Dowsing

Dowsing crystal on chain with colorful glass beads

Dowsing with a pendulum is an ancient practice to enable access to information from the subtle energies that surround you. Often used to find underground water sources, dowsing feels like magic. You can tap into intuitive guidance and receive answers to questions.

To begin, find a quiet and peaceful place to sit where you can focus without distraction. Hold the pendulum by its chain between your thumb and index finger, allowing it to hang freely. Relax. Next, establish your personal baseline by asking simple yes or no questions that you already know the answers to. Observing how it responds to this is showing you what your “yes” and your “no” look like. Typically a vertical swing indicates ‘yes’ and a horizontal one, ‘no’.

Now ask to be connected to your highest guidance. I call in my guardian angels, spirit guides, and ancestors of the highest intention and vibration to be present. Ask if you are now connected and see how the pendulum responds. Once connected to your highest guidance, begin to ask questions, trusting the process.

One of my spiritual teachers, Joan Staffen, is a dowsing expert and has written many practical books that can deepen your dowsing practice. I highly recommend you purchase any or all of her books.
